徐揚生，1958年4月7日出生于浙江紹興，空間機器人與智能控制專家，中國工程院院士、中國人工智能學會首批會士，香港中文大學自動化與計算機輔助工程學講座教授。 [1-2] 
1982年和1984年分別取得浙江大學學士及碩士學位，并于1989年獲美國賓夕法尼亞大學博士學位。1989年至1997年間，任美國卡內基梅隆大學計算機學院機器人研究所研究員。1997年起任教于香港中文大學，擔任機械與自動化工程學系系主任至2004年，2011年開始擔任香港中文大學副校長，現兼任中國科學院深圳先進技術研究院副院長。 [3] 
2013年7月獲聘為香港中文大學（深圳）首任校長，任期4年。
2017年7月，獲得香港中文大學（深圳）理事會續聘，任期至2021年。 [4]

1989年至1997年，擔任美國卡耐基梅隆大學計算機學院機器人研究所研究員，領域為空間機器人研究。
1997年，赴香港香港中文大學任教。
1997年至2004年，擔任香港中文大學自動化系系主任。
1998年至2004年，徐揚生是香港研究資助局工程組成員。
2001年，當選國際歐亞科學院院士。

徐揚生院士 徐揚生院士
徐揚生長期從事機器人與智能控制系統研究，在空間機器人的設計、控制及動力學研究，以及無重力地面試驗設施的研制等方面作出了重要貢獻。他致力于推動我國航天智能控制技術的發展，提出并參與了有關航天智能系統的研制。同時，他對動態穩定系統的控制、人類控制策略的自動建模、穿戴式智能人機界面、以及全方位混合動力汽車等進行了深入研究和系統開發。發表論文270多篇、專著3部、編著1部。 [6]

徐教授熱心服務社會并積極參與專業活動，曾任香港生產力促進局董事（2003-2006），香港研究資助局工程組成員（1998-2004），中國國家高科技航天航空領域委員會顧問（2004-2006），中國自動化學會理事（2002至今），國際歐亞科學院院士（2001至今），國際宇航科學院通訊院士（2007至今），IEEE Fellow（2003至今），IEEE機器人與自動化學報副主編（1997-2000），及深圳市決策咨詢委員會顧問（2008至今）。

徐揚生人物故事

徐揚生出生于上世紀50年代浙江紹興的一個書香家庭。高中畢業后，經歷了兩年的知青生活。1977年恢復高考，被浙江大學錄取。7年后，到美國留學，獲得賓夕法尼亞大學博士學位。隨后在卡內基梅隆大學任教并從事機器人研究，事業如日中天 [7]  。
經歷過改革開放、香港回歸、海外求學、香港治學的徐揚生具有濃厚的家國情懷和對大學教育的反思，立志在中國本土辦一所世界一流的大學。在徐揚生的動員和努力下，2014年香港中文大學（深圳）正式設立。 [8]
